I look forward to seeing you there!

Yes, it’s been a while since my last post, but the absence has not been without purpose.

I deepened my Lu Jong studies with the exploration of more vigorous poses, adding an entirely NEW level of movements to the Lu Jong core practice. These movements are the next level of training for students comfortable with Lu Jong Level I.

I’ve been working on yoga workshops and retreats, in addition to Lu Jong Teacher trainings, drawing upon all my skills and knowledge to create purposeful and fun experiences in different locales. Oh my!

In addition, I’m preparing to launch an exciting and dynamic practice: Tog Chod – The Dance of the Wisdom Sword. I mean c’mon, who can resist learning how to work with a sword?

More information about this incredible Tibetan Martial Art and the chance to take exclusive classes will come very soon!

Finding Balance When Times Feel Rocky

Standard

The Year of the Fire Rooster launched at full speed and most people forgot to fasten their seat belts!
The ability to create stability in the midst of chaos is increasingly more and more essential to your health – both inside and out.

One of the main benefits of Lu Jong training is precisely this ability to recalibrate the subtle inner energy (lung, chi, prana) thus fortifying the ability to ‘ride the waves’ from a place of grounded power.

When you restore inner balance you generate a sense of calm focus in addition to gently working your body.

Wouldn’t it make sense to invest in your wellbeing by exploring what Lu Jong can do for YOU?

ALSO … Check out this clip on my teacher, Tibetan Buddhist Tantrayana master, Tulku Lobsang, on Nat Geo’s TV series The Story of God with Morgan Freeman demonstrating the Tibetan practice of Tummo.

Tulku Lobsang will offer an opportunity to study this practice with him when he visits North America in October, 2017!

What do You Have to Lose? … A Little Stress?

Standard

Lu Jong is an ancient Tibetan movement practice from the Tantrayana and Bon traditions with origins dating as far back as 8,000 years.  It is a form of Meditation in Motion.

The practice is comprised of a series of body movements done in conjunction with rhythmic breathing for the purpose of self-healing.  With the release of internal blockages and the redirection of stagnant energy within us,  we can develop resistance to disease, mental clarity, and balanced emotions, resulting in a greater harmony of our physical, mental and energetic levels.

Lu Jong has been transmitted directly from Master to student, to this present day, primarily by means of oral teachings.

Opportunities to learn Lu Jong with a certified teacher are rare, but DO exist for the curious … this week!

A Wandering Sunday

Standard

I love lazy mornings in bed!  You know the kind, those days where there really is a l-o-n-g list of things you ‘should’ be doing, but you don’t? The luxurious pleasure of NOT staring at the clock and counting the minutes?

As I look out my window I see the early morning fog – swirly and misty, painting most of my world white.  Closing my eyes seems like the right thing to do.  I listen to the different birds calling outside as I enjoy the stillness of a house where children are fast asleep.  Squirrels are chasing each other along the tree branches, geese honk out calls as they fly by, the blue jays work on their nest…

So many times I tell my boys that we don’t live in the land of ‘what if’, that ‘life isn’t fair’, and a whole host of cliches that suddenly have me sounding a lot like my mother! But sometimes, yes … sometimes, it’s OK to let your mind roam free,  to pause on whatever thought strikes your fancy.

No conclusions, no deadlines, no problem solving. Much like a butterfly fluttering from one flower to the next.  To see and enjoy the world and it’s gifts and rhythms as they unfold, like a baby discovering its own feet – Such a wonderful lazy morning!

I am reminded of a poem, “Wonderment”, by Jamie K. Reaser

Oh dear … the alpha male cat is throwing his fur around, he looks like an oversized Tasmanian devil, and the turkeys are on my roof. They sound like a herd of tap-dancing cows … sigh.

It WAS peaceful for a spell.
